Don’t Shoot: One Man, a Street Fellowship, and the End of Violence in Inner-City America – David M. Kennedy

Don't Shoot - David M. Kennedy

A fascinating perspective on the attempts to stem the wave of gang violence that characterized so much of Boston in the mid-1990s, but the book talks about so much more. Kennedy details how his team of Harvard researchers worked with the Boston PD to create a ground-breaking initiative to combat street crime, why it worked here, and how it worked in other cities across the country.

*Note that this book has some examples that are definitely not for the faint of heart.
