World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks
This book came out in 2006, but don’t write it off just for that. Max Brooks is the son of Mel Brooks, who you might know from some of his movies. If you don’t, well… look it up.
This book takes place after a giant, world wide Zombie Apocalypse (which I will now refer to as a “Zombocalypse”). And, interestingly, instead of simply telling the story, Brooks deals with this by having various survivors of the Zombocalypse tell the story of how they survived. Some of the stories are funny, some are sad, but all of them are very much worth reading- and even better, they all work together to tell the larger story of the Zombie War.
The book is paced well, is a fun read, and it has Zombies in it- what’s not to love?
