Reflections of a Rock Lobster and Hunger Games

Tomorrow, the English Department’s Drama and Leadership and Social Change electives will travel to see the Boston Children’s Theatre’s production of Reflections of a Rock Lobster, a stage translation of a real-life story of a New England teen who sued his high school for the right to bring his boyfriend to his school’s prom. Later this month, select classes will go to the Burlington Cinema to watch The Hunger Games, a dystopian film chronicling the struggles of a young woman who is forced to participate in a lethal high-stakes game of survival and barbarism. The novel is slated to be one of the core texts for the department’s new Young Adult Fiction class, running next year for the first time.
