BOOK MADNESS: Opening Round – British and World Region

The matchups in the American region were crazy. First of all, The Great Gatsby nearly shut out its first round opponent, gathering 96% of the votes against The Crucible, which fully sent Arthur Miller to the locker room. The Book Thief ran away late in a close match again The Scarlet Letter, which kept the Young Adult elective alive in the bracket. But the other two matches was where the real drama lay. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest won by a thread over Into the Wild, 53-47, and the matchup between Their Eyes Were Watching God and The Shining ended in a deadlocked tie, with the tiebreaker pushing the result to Their Eyes Were Watching God. One more round of intro matches and we’ll have out BHS Sweet 16! Now on to the new votes! Voting in this bracket will run until midnight on Tuesday, March 12.
