Blink by Malcolm Gladwell
Have you ever spent ages making up your mind about something and then at the last moment changed your mind? Or, have you ever judged someone after only having met them for a few seconds? This is what Malcolm Gladwell addresses and analyzes in his amazing non-fiction bookBlink. Gladwell explains a collection of true stories about the subconscious mind and how we think without even truly “thinking.” Gladwell talks about decision-making and how following your gut can often result is as reliable of a decision as those that are deliberately planned and calculated. Gladwell’s anecdotes range from heartwarming to scientific, but all of them really make you think about how the mind works and how our lives can be altered based on one decision that was made in a fraction of a second. I really enjoyed this book and found that it made me see the world differently. If you want to read a book that is going to make you think and keep you interested from start to finish, you will really enjoy Blink. If you read it and like it, Gladwell has also written other popular books including The Tipping Point and Outliers.
