2014 SAT Scores Released

The results of the 2014 SAT tests have been released, and Burlington students maintained nearly the exact same averages that they had in 2013. The 2014 average scores were a 521 in Reading, and a 519 in Writing, compared to a 520 in both scores last year. In both scores, Burlington ended up higher than the state average; the Reading score puts Burlington in the top third in the state, while the Writing score puts us in the top 25%.

Across the entire SAT, including Math, BHS students once again averaged a score (1574) that surpassed the state’s “College Readiness score” of 1550 – an accomplishment that was only earned by fewer than one-third of the schools in Massachusetts last year.

Statewide, Massachusetts scores remained stable from last year, and Massachusetts remains among the top-performing states on the SAT.
