In today’s Poetry Out Loud state finals, Caroline Sprague of Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington earned first place on the strength of her three captivating poetry recitations, and will move forward to represent Massachusetts in the national competition.
Ashwini Kulkarni, representing BHS, performed remarkably well – turning in one of the finest performances we’ve ever had at the state finals, but unfortunately was not selected to advance to the top six to recite her final poem. But she impressively represented Burlington, especially when she was casually reciting 16th century verse while walking around Downtown Crossing during lunch. Passersby were surely impressed.
Thank you to the teachers and students who came out in support, and congratulations once again to Ashwini for her excellent run during Poetry Out Loud 2015!
