Support Angel Vargas in the Massachusetts POL Finals!

Are you interested in seeing Angel Vargas compete for the 2016 Massachusetts Poetry Out Loud championship? You should be. He is killing it. And the finals are in the Old South Meeting House, a building of monumental historic importance (it was the site of the original Boston Tea Party). If you’d like to attend this free event, and watch Angel speak on the same stage where George Washington and Benjamin Franklin once spoke, we have a few options:

FAN BUS – SIGN UP HERE!!!
That’s right. If there are enough students and teachers who are interested in creating a first-ever Poetry Out Loud Fan Bus, we’ll send one from the school. We probably need 20 people to send a bus. The event starts at 9:30 Sunday morning, so we’d imagine the bus would have to leave BHS around 8:30 or 8:45. If you are interested in being a part of a fan bus, click the above link – we would require a $10 deposit, which you would give to your English teacher, and receive back at the finals (to ensure that the bus isn’t running empty).

DRIVING
CLICK HERE for a Google Map of the location of the Old South Meeting House. Parking is free on Sundays in Boston, and there’s little snow left to muddle the situation, but it’s downtown Boston… parking can be tricky… But on the other hand, it’s convenient…

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
If you can get to the Red Line (Alewife), the finals are located about a 5-minute walk from the Park Street station

The event starts at 9:30 and runs until 2 or 3 in the afternoon – you do not have to remain in the building for all of the performances. But it would be great to see your support! Good luck, Angel!
