Collab Contest Deadline Extended – plus 3 other writing contests

Collab, BHS’s award-winning literary magazine, has extended its deadline for its current contest to the end of the day on Wednesday, November 30. The magazine is seeking any story, poem, or essay that deals with the topics of either passion or hatred. All students are welcome to submit their own original work – for more, CLICK HERE to go to the Collab website.

There are three other writing competitions with upcoming deadlines as well:

Due December 1: The Smith Poetry Prize for High School Girls.
This prize is open to sophomore and junior girls who attend a New England high school, and the top prize is $500. For submission details, CLICK HERE.

Due December 9: The Scholastic Writing Contest. 
This prestigious contest is open to all BHS students, and the English Department will waive the entry fee for as many students as we can cover. Two years ago, Anjali Seereeram’s short story was selected as one of the top five written entries in the state in this competition. Due January 15: The Helen Creeley Student Poetry Prize.
This contest is open to all Massachusetts high school poets, and the top prize is $100. For submission information, CLICK HERE.
