Do you like writing stories?
This course is a fiction workshop for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, where students will practice writing their own original short stories, and will provide feedback and criticism to each others’ pieces. Students will also study pieces from masterful authors, including Mark Twain, Graham Greene, Donald Barthelme and Gary Soto. Students will work on mastering the elements of creative fiction, including personal expression, character development, the three-act plot structure, genre and perspective.
Students will be required to submit their work for publication both in Collab, the school’s literary magazine, and in at least two publications outside of BHS
